Bluestar Intercultural Centre believes that dialogue between people of diverse cultures and religions are not only imperative but also should be taken to a higher level. We call this level dialogue through action, which implies that for lasting understanding to occur, we need to act now.
The circumstances of the global society we live in require sincere dialogue between different people of faiths, cultures and races. Graphic mass media, the internet and ease of travel have meant that we become instantly aware of any event around the globe. Actions of an individual in one part of the world can affect and influence reactions of others elsewhere. Consequences of such behaviour and amplification of local events to global scale mean that it is a disadvantage to people of different faiths and cultures to withdraw to their respective corners.
Bluestar Intercultural Centre believes that dialogue between people of diverse cultures and religions are not only imperative but also should be taken to a higher level. We call this level dialogue through action, which implies that for lasting understanding to occur, we need to act now.
Bluestar Intercultural Centre also helps to bridge the cultural polarisation within the Muslim community resulting from the differential migration patterns and the diversity of countries from which Muslims originate. We believe that dialogue and social interaction will result in Australian Muslims to develop their own unique Australian culture. We also believe that Australian Muslims have a lot to offer to the positive development of the intellectual, cultural and religious landscape of Australia. Bluestar Intercultural Centre is ready to facilitate this development with the energy of young Australian Muslims.
We, therefore, engage with people in dialogue and social interactions in order to:
* Recognise shared universal and human values
* Make ourselves known to end bigotry and prejudice
* Demonstrate the value we add to the world
