Whirling Dervishes Sema Ceremony of the Whirling Dervishes Concert & Rituals 2011 in Canberra
Bluestar hosted the Whirling Dervishes all the way from Konya, Türkiye at the Canberra Theatre Centre on Tuesday, 22 November 2011.
In 2005, UNESCO proclaimed the "Sema Ceremony of the Whirling Dervishes" of Turkey as amongst the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Federal Parliament Iftar Dinner On Tuesday 8th of September 2009 Federal Parliament Iftar Dinner was held at the Great Hall, in the Federal Parliament House. Bluestar Intercultural Centre chairman, Abdul Celil Gelim and BIC Executive Advisor, Orhan Cicek had the privilege to visit H.E. David Daly, Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Australia and to New Zealand. The visit which took place on the 20th of October 2010 was meant to explore possible projects that the BIC and the EU could embark on jointly. After the discussions, the chairman of BIC presented the ambassador with a small gift to express BIC's appreciation for his hospitality.
