Iftar Dinners Hosted By The Federal Parliament Of Australia |

The Federal Parliament of Australia has hosted Iftar Dinners during the Ramadan season of 2005 and 2006.
Two hundred and ten distinguished guests, which compromised Members of the Parliament, community and religious leaders of different faiths and renowned businessmen from Australia’s multicultural society. The events were aimed at building a strong relationship between the Muslim communities of Australia and the Government. The project was a great success and will continue to be in the upcoming years.
The Bluestar Intercultural Centre believes that social harmony and cohesion can only be established through social interaction and cooperation. In order to attain an ideal level of harmony amongst different cultural groups in Australia, social interaction should occur at every level. The Iftar dinners have shown that many strong bonds of friendship can be established at every level in within the Australian community. |
