Bluestar Intercultural Centre’s executive director, Abdul Celil Gelim and acclaimed Turkish scholar and writer, His Eminence, Mehmet Ali Sengul visited the Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn, Archbishop Mark Benedict Coleridge.
On the 9th of February, Bluestar’s Abdul Celil Gelim accompanied His Eminence, Mehmet Ali Sengul and his associates, who arrived to Canberra for a number of visits. These visits included meeting Archbishop Mark Coleridge and Professor James Haire. His Eminence, Mehmet Ali Sengul, is a close associate of the world renowned Muslim spiritual leader, Muhammad Fethullah Gulen. The visit to the Catholic Archbishop of Canberra and Goulbourn, Most Revered Mark Coleridge, was marked by joint sentiments, prayers and condolences for the lives lost in the recent Victoria bushfires. His Eminence Mehmet Ali Sengul highlighted Muslim-Christian relations were such that we could now begin to seriously cooperate on issues of common concern. |
